In a preview for the fifth annual New York Roundtable Writers’ Conference, April 24-25, organizer Leah Schnelbach predicts “the indie publishing model is the wave of the future.

Best-selling author Wally Lamb (bio) is the conference’s Friday evening keynote speaker in 2009.

Lamb is the author of the blockbuster novels The Hour I First BelievedI Know This Much Is True and She’s Come Undone (the latter two Oprah Book Club® selections and New York Times bestsellers).

Just Announced!

Lee Woodruff, author of Perfectly Imperfect: A Life in Progress and the best-selling In an Instant, which chronicles her family’s recovery following her husband Bob’s roadside bomb injury in Iraq, is the conference’s Friday lunch keynote speaker.

Alan Zweibel, television, film and print comedy writer (including staff writer for the original Saturday Night Live) and author of the Thurber Prize-winning novel The Other Shulman, is the conference’s Saturday lunch keynote speaker.

Lionel, Air America Radio host, cultural critic, raconteur and author of the best-selling Everyone’s Crazy Except You and Me … and I’m Not So Sure about You, answers writers’ questions in a Saturday panel discussion.
